About this site
Open Page Notes exists because tutorials rarely answer the question you have after the video ends: “Why does my page look wrong?” This site records workflows that survived real edits—spacing fights, broken grids, links that work locally but not on the host—not aspirational roadmaps.
The visual chrome borrows old personal-homepage window dressing; the writing does not. Expect direct instructions, concrete examples, and sections you can jump into mid-page. Nothing here requires a framework, a package manager, or a deploy pipeline beyond uploading HTML.
What you get
- Resources — URLs grouped by job-to-be-done, each with a “open this when…” line
- Journal — longer pieces on habits, information design, and first-month pitfalls
- Source you can steal — one shared stylesheet and a tiny script file; copy patterns, not vibes
What you will not find
- Backend tutorials, auth flows, or database setup
- Framework comparisons or “best stack” hot takes
- Sponsored tool placements—links are personal, not affiliate
How to read it
Use Resources when you already know the task (“compress this image”, “check default display value”). Open the Journal when the task is fuzzy (“my notes are a mess”, “I keep restarting the same page”). Return to Home for what changed recently.
External sites linked from Resources keep their own terms and accuracy guarantees. Notes here describe how this site uses them; your mileage may differ.
